Autumn Cove Manufactured Housing Community for seniors over age 55, is located in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Autumn Cove is not a retirement home or assisted living center - It's a comfortable and affordable neighborhood for those who would like to continue living an independent lifestyle. Our homes are quality-built and feature conservative yards with enough room to satisfy those with a green thumb, yet small enough to allow you to care for your own yard without overdoing it. And though the age restriction of 55 and over is for full time residents, we have no problem with your children or grand kids coming for a nice visit.

And when those grand kids drop by, we have some suggestions of activities and outings you can do to keep everyone entertained and happy. To start with, here are some fun seasonal places to go:

Boo At The Zoo
Tautphus Park, 2725 Carnival Way, Idaho Falls

Take the grandkids to see the amazing display of 1,000 pumpkins, 500,000 lights, light sculptures, tricks, treats, spiders and snakes. They can enjoy a variety of games for Halloween fun. Dress them up in creative costumes and they may win a prize! Have them bring a trick or treat bag as well. Oct 28, 29 & 30

Museum of Idaho
200 N. Eastern Ave., Idaho Falls, ID 83402

Kids love science, so why not take them to marvel at the amazing new exhibit at the Museum of Idaho? This exhibit, called "Glow," explores the science of bioluminescence - nature's lights. Animals and plants alike use this process for everything from attracting mates to scaring off predators. Kids and grown-ups alike will love the hands-on section.

Spend some time maneuvering the straw maze, let them try their hand at pumpkin painting, take a train ride, and win prizes! A great time for young and old. You can also buy farm-fresh pumpkins, gourds, corn on the cob, eggs, squash, cucumbers, and watermelon.

Things to do at home: These may sound too easy, but as they say, less is more!

Play a game. Now while that may seem simplistic, children today with their heads buried in their eletronics, have very little exposure to board and card games with their human interaction. Pull down a few classics and have some fun!

chocolate chip cookies.pjCook. A no-brainer way to impress kids, win their adoration, and teach them some life skills. My grandson was so amazed I could actually make french toast - he thought you could only get it at IHop! He thought I was magic when I made a German pancake. Cook together for an hour or two, and make memories that last a lifetime.

Read. Nothing is sweeter than snuggling up with a grandchild's head tucked under your chin and them hanging on every word as you share all sorts of adventures and destinations.

And when you are finished impressing, teaching, exploring and loving those kids for the day, you can crawl into your cozy bed in your comfortable and affordable Autumn Cove home, and get some good rest so you can do it again the next day.
